Another Year, Another Eeo-1 Report

The September 30 deadline for covered employers to file the annual Employer Information Report (EEO-1) is just around the corner. The EEO-1 Report must be filed by all private enterprises that have at least 100 employees and are engaged in an “industry affecting commerce.” Smaller private enterprises must also file the EEO-1 Report if they have at least 50 employees and they have federal Government prime contracts or first-tier subcontracts amounting to at least $50,000 or they serve as a depository of Government funds in any amount or they are a financial institution serving as an issuing and paying agent for U.S. Savings Bonds and Notes.

Covered employers are required to file a report providing certain information about the employing enterprise, along with a break-down of the workforce by job category, race/ethnicity and gender. Employers with more than one business location must file multiple reports to describe the workforce at each location. Except in unusual circumstances, EEO-1 Reports must be filed online.

Detailed information about filing the EEO-1 Report, including instructions and answers to frequently asked questions, can be accessed at: http://www.eeoc.gov/employers/eeo1survey/index.cfm.

Let’s start a partnership worth keeping.
