In the September 4, 2020 edition of the Grand Rapids Business Journal, Ron Redick explains how lake access can be tricky for those that live near lakes. Ron stated that some residents that live along the water have riparian rights, but sometimes those rights are misconstrued. Often lawsuits arise over back lot owners or easement owners misusing the intent of the access. He added that if wrongful activity is left unchecked for 15 years or more, back lot owners may legally claim the continued use of the area and obtain a prescriptive easement.
