Neil Jansen Awarded the 2024 Michael S. Barnes Award

Congratulations to Neil Jansen for being awarded the Legal Aid of Western Michigan 2024 Michael S. Barnes Award.

The Michael S. Barnes Award recognizes an attorney who has made significant pro bono contributions benefiting legal aid clients.  Michael S. Barnes was a dominant force in providing legal aid and pro bono service to Legal Aid’s client communities.  Legal Aid Executive Director, Pamela Hoekwater, stated that “Neil Jansen’s pro bono volunteerism—over 1000 hours representing Legal Aid clients—marks a wonderful commitment of time and expertise.  Neil is in every way an exemplary pro bono servant, modeling how an attorney makes a career-long impact and changes lives for people and families who most need legal help but can least afford it.”
