Nikole Canute Explains to WGVU How Employers Can Address Time Off During COVID-19 Pandemic
In an interview with WGVU reporter, Shelley Irwin, Nikole Canute provided some input on how employers can address time off during the COVID-19 pandemic. She explained that the Families First Coronavirus Response Act provides for two kinds of leaves: Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act and Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act. Nikole explained how employers can determine which leave would apply for their employees. She also explained how much compensation each Act would provide. Finally, Nikole explained that Act does not go into effect until April 2, 2020, and that employers need to review current policies to determine if they need to be updated.
